| PaqRating
PaqRating is potentially our most exciting feature. With it, everyone using PaqRat collaborates to create a database of URLs, each categorized and rated 1-10. Here's how it works. When you first click "Fetch", PaqRat quickly checks the current PaqRating of that URL on our website. It is displayed in the Status Bar. If you have the option set, PaqRat will confirm with you that you want to download this site knowing that it has a low rating.g All you have to do is click Yes or No.
When PaqRat finishes getting every file and is at the end of the URL List, PaqRat will pop up a box and ask you to grade the site 1-10 by clicking a button. If you are the first user to ever grade this particular URL, PaqRat will also ask you to choose a category for this site to be displayed under.
When PaqRat gets your grade, it updates our PaqRating website in less than a second and you are ready to start downloading a new URL. So with only one click, from hundreds or thousands of users, over time PaqRat will build a gigantic database of thousands of URLs and with hundreds of votes on each one as to how good they are. In the future, we expect to publicize this PaqRating database on our website as a searchable, rankable list so that everyone can quickly find high-quality websites in whatever interests them, but for now, it exists only as a cool feature and service to PaqRat users, to help keep them from wasting their time on bad sites. And don't worry about privacy. All we are storing is the average vote for each website, and how many votes have there been so far. We are not storing who voted what. We are not storing who is going to which websites. We don't care about those things, and frankly we don't have the processing power to store all that stuff. This is just a giant list of URLs and ratings from 1-10. That's all. Think about it... a database of thousands of websites, categorized and and searchable like Yahoo... only this time, you know which ones are the "good" ones.
